RIAM EXAM APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Exam students are now required to apply for their exams directly with The Royal Irish
Academy of Music as The Mayo School of Music can no longer transfer payments from
students to RIAM as a third party. Our Castlebar & Kiltimagh schools will remain exam
centres.
Here are the key details for the new process:
Students Aged 18 and Over: You will need to create your own profile on the RIAM
website to register and book your exam. Please visit the RIAM official website for
detailed instructions and to start the registration process.
Students Under 18: A parent or guardian must create a profile on the RIAM website
to register and book the exam on behalf of the student. Please ensure that all
necessary information is provided and that the registration is completed in a timely
manner.
For your convenience, here are a few steps to guide you through the process:
1. Visit the RIAM website: Go to the RIAM official website and locate the exam
registration section.
2. Create an Account/Profile: Follow the instructions to set up an account if you do not
already have one.
3. Register for Exams: Choose the appropriate exam, fill out the necessary details, and
complete the registration process. (Mayo School of Music Castlebar & Kiltimagh will
remain exam Centres).
4. Payment: Be prepared to handle any associated fees directly through the RIAM
system.
We encourage you to begin this process as soon as possible to ensure that you are
registered for your desired exam date. If you have any questions or need assistance, please
refer to the RIAM website's support resources or contact their helpdesk directly. You will be
able to submit the dates you are unavailable and view your results in your account profile
once they are processed. Your cert will be posted directly to you.
Please refer to RIAM website for exam Dates & Fees and application, deadlines for Live &
online submissions.
Please feel free to discuss with your teacher exam grades before applying.
Singing students – Please check whether you should be apply for a "Singing" exam or a
"Musical Theatre & Popular Singing" exam.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to helping you to
prepare for your exams.
Best regards,
MSOM Team
