Finbar Campbell

Finbar Campbell is a well know guitar player, and teacher based here in Co. Mayo, Ireland. He has been working in the music industry for over thirty years, gaining a well rounded insight into various elements of a working musicians role and the industry as a whole. Finbar has an excellent knowledge of various genres of music, and is a key member of our guitar department here in the Mayo School of Music. He started out his career as a self taught guitar player, and after some time decided to undertake a Diploma in Music, from the Musicians institute in London where he really developed his skills and picked up an array of songs, unique styles and performing techniques. As a lively and well connected session musician, Finbar has performed all across the world in countries such as France, Portugal, Germany and all over the UK. As well as performing live gigs and concerts, Finbar is a well rercoded musician, having recorded on albums for several labels. Finbar worked as the in house songwriter and musical engineer for Newsound 2000, a London label focused on instrumental music. Finbar took up teaching in the late 2000’s having undertook a role for the Camden Council as a peripatetic music teacher. We are delighted to have him as a member of our team here in the Mayo School of Music.
