Gráinne Coyne

Gráinne Coyne is a skilled and passionate button accordion player from South Mayo, known for her deep love of Irish traditional music. Having played from a young age, she is an active member of the traditional music community, frequently attending sessions across Mayo and Galway, where she continues to be inspired by the musicians around her.

Gráinne has been teaching at the Mayo School of Music since 2022, where she shares her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm with students of all ages and levels. Her teaching style is friendly, encouraging, and rooted in a strong appreciation for the tradition and culture behind the music.

She holds a BA (Hons) in Music from Waterford Institute of Technology and has had the opportunity to perform internationally, including tours in Newfoundland, Canada, as part of the Newfoundland-Irish Connections Committee. These experiences broadened her musical perspective and deepened her commitment to promoting and preserving Irish traditional music.

Gráinne brings warmth, energy, and a genuine love for teaching to every lesson, making her a valued member of the Mayo School of Music team.
