MAYO SCHOOL OF MUSIC NEWS

Bookings for the following classes are now taking place at the Mayo School of Music;

Guitar, Tin Whistle, Bodhran, Button Accordian, Wooden Flute, Saxophone, Clarinet, Silver Flute, Fiddle, Singing, Bagpipes, Mandolin and Drums.

These classes are designed for all ages from the beginner to the advanced student (children and adults).

Tuition is given by fully qualified and experienced teachers.

Bookings are also taking place for the highly successful pre-school  music classes.  This is for children aged 4 and 5 years.  It is a full filled introduction to music through song, movement and musical games.

New Classes this year will include specialised Theory Classes in association with the Royal Irish Academy of Music.  This class is specifically for students taking piano and violin exams.  Contact the Mayo School of Music for further information.

2008

HIGH ACHIEVER AWARD WINNERS

The Mayo School of Music are proud to announce that six students received High Achiever

Awards for 2008 for outstanding results in their exams.

The High Achiever Awards were introduced by the Royal Irish Academy of Music in the

year 2000 to recognise the work and talents of students entering the Royal Irish Academy

of Music exams. The students were selected out of over 43,000 students who took the exams.

The Award Ceremony took place in the Radisson Hotel, Galway on November 9th.

Lucille & Alice Davenhill who received their award for Piano Duet  - Senior Grade, had

the honor to perform at the ceremony.

Finola Higgins-Cosgrove - Musical Director and Piano Teacher and

Ludmile Burcovschi - Piano Teacher.

2007 HIGH ACHIEVER AWARD WINNERS

Congratulations to 3 students of The Mayo School of Music who received 5

Permanent TSB High Achiever awards for outstanding results in their piano

exams.

350 students from all over Ireland received awards at concerts that took place

around the country. Alice Davenhill of Ballindrehid Kiltimagh received an award

for getting a high distinction in her Grade 5 piano exam. She is a student of

Finola Higgins Cosgrove.
Niamh McLoughlan of Cordarragh Kiltimagh received two awards for getting

high distinctions in grades 3 and 4. She is a student of Avril Forde McGreal.
Lucille Davenhill of Ballindrehid Kiltimagh received two awards for getting

high distinctions in grades 4 and 5. She is a student of Finola Higgins Cosgrove.
The girls received their awards at a concert in Sligo.
